Mathematician. Reader. Fiftysomething. Cruciverbalist. Not very good at thinking of witty things to put in short bios.

I wasn't on Twitter before that nice Mr Musk suggested that everyone go to Mastodon, and I don't expect to be very active here, but who knows?

Computer science theorist and mathematician interested in the connections between things. Assistant professor in the LIX lab at Ecole Polytechnique.

Coder. Mathematician. Hacker-errant.

Please say something to me before following me! I'll have to carefully scrutinise your follow request if we haven't exchanged any words, but I'll probably approve it right away if you at least say hi. It's more work for me if you request a follow without any previous interaction.

I'm married; no flirting please.

I'm a mathematician at UNAM in Mexico City. I work in algebraic topology, homotopy theory and higher category theory, but am interested in all sorts of math.

I also enjoy computer programming as a hobby and am a big fan of the text editor Emacs.

Grandpa, hanging around in the OEIS helping people to get their stuff in.

Love the history of mathematics, computational mathematics, and reverse engineering. Sometimes translate papers by Euler and Riemann.

I entertain myself with hacking and learning new computer languages.

I wish that TeX and CAS merge into one unity, eliminating any 'formula translating system'.

Culture is kept in our conversations, for some loose definition of 'conversation'. Black lives matter.

I work in software with a team of physicists, MEs, EEs, and software engineers, all working to protect the biosphere.

I have a background in physics and math to the BSc level. My posts tend to be a mélange of all the above, and a bit more.

Dipping a toe. I have some understanding of the most elementary fluid dynamics and thermodynamics, some practical physics and organic chemistry. I'd like to do a little passive learning if I can, with a view to learning programming later in life. We all see the same truth through a different paradigm, but sometimes math helps us better see and understand and convey the same thing. What a lovely backbone upon which to build a body of communication and thought. I treasure this server.

I'm kind of a Marmite person, in that I'm essentially a byproduct of the brewing industry.

Fulltime freelance provider of outreach and enhancement in maths ... I talk a lot. About maths.

I talk about other stuff too, like ballroom dancing, juggling, unicycling, education, engineering, software, and "other things".

But mostly about maths.

I tend to follow back, but only if you have something in your profile.
