Waxlimbs (Toronto, Canada) – What started in 2010 as the solo project of songwriter/producer Lex Feathers, eventually evolved into a whirlwind collaboration with Paul Geldart on drums and synths, Will Jarvis on guitar and vocals and Olivia Cox on keys and vocals.
Their music shifts between ghostly ballads and noise rock elements, all with a healthy dose of pop sensibility.
Known for their explosive live show, theatrical masks and lights, their newest release is a shimmering cauldron of alt rock focusing on losing yourself in the catharsis of sex, death, and a loss of identity. With its grinding guitars, glistening strings and raw vocals, it is the unmaking of a person in a song.
I am a musical "flâneur". And a flâneur after all!
I build my sounds on my synthesizers as I walk down the street. I compose with
no purpose, for pleasure. I get my ideas from the sounds I create. I let myself
be carried away by inspiration, without knowing which direction to take.
Composing a track is like wandering somewhere.
Through the FRED FLÂNE project, I would like to transpose that saunterer side
I have in music. To stroll is to be free, and I want to make music with the
same feeling of freedom that a walk gives me.
Music is my reason for living...
